About her practice:
I create sensual environments, often exploring our complex relationship with the land. Literature and stories inform my work, as much as the world we live in.
As the global situation becomes more turbulent, wracked with wars and aggression, my investigations increasingly depict reimagined worlds and animals. These are wild places, tempered by a sense of abandonment.
Forces are omnipresent; wind, moons, trees, fire, all feature to depict inter connectivity.
Using archetypes and symbolism to represent forces of nature, ecopolitics, femininity and the natural world are key to my practice. I try to offer a glimpse of a lost paradise. But there’s duality and ambiguity, a slipperiness, hence the sense of movement. Love and destruction are simultaneously at play, as is joy and darkness.
